12 Things You Need to Know About Laser Genesis

Have you heard about Laser Genesis, the amazing new laser treatment we offer at Lavish? It’s quick, effective, and has tons of benefits! Plus, it’s completely painless and treats a variety of skin concerns. Interested in finding out more? Here are 12 things you need to know about Laser Genesis.

How Laser Genesis works

Laser Genesis works by using pulsing, targeted lasers to gently heat the inner layers of the skin, stimulating collagen and elastin production. The heat of the laser stimulates fibroblasts, which are responsible for producing collagen and adding structure and elasticity to the skin. This reduces redness and helps to combat a multitude of other skin concerns.

Skin benefits of Laser Genesis

Laser Genesis addresses so many different skincare needs! It can be used to treat enlarged pores, redness or rosacea, uneven skin tone and texture, wrinkles and fine lines, and scars. It can help to slow down the effects of ageing, resulting in a smooth, even complexion.

While the face is the most popular area in which to get Laser Genesis, the treatment can also be beneficial on the neck and chest to fight discolouration or other signs of ageing.

Who is Laser Genesis for?

Laser Genesis is great for anyone who struggles with any of the above skin concerns. We recommend that you consult a doctor before undergoing any laser skin treatments if you are breastfeeding, pregnant, or using Roaccutane for acne. Chat to one of our technicians if you want to know whether Laser Genesis is right for your skin!

What is the difference between Laser Genesis and IPL?

Both IPL Skin Rejuvenation and Laser Genesis are extremely effective treatments that both utilise pulsing techniques—but which one is best? While they’re both amazing, they address different concerns.

IPL uses pulsed lights to treat sun damage and associated skin issues; Laser Genesis targets signs of ageing, uneven pores, and redness with pulsed lasers

Laser Genesis goes deeper than other treatments

One of the main reasons Laser Genesis is so effective is its depth. The laser can reach the dermal layer of the skin—something that many other laser treatments can’t. The dermis is the primary layer in which collagen and elastin are produced. Other lasers and topical treatments (such as anti-ageing creams and ointments) cannot reach beneath the outer layers of the skin.

Pulsing lasers protect and strengthen your skin

This pulsing technique is what allows Laser Genesis to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin safely. Constant heat or light on the skin can result in irritation or even burning. The pauses between pulses give the skin a bit of time to recover and cool down before the next pulse. On top of this, the pulses trick the skin into thinking there’s damage, which stimulates collagen production in order to heal the perceived damage.

These treatments can administer up to 10,000 pulses per treatment, which significantly improves elastin and collagen activity. Over time and with more treatments, the skin becomes increasingly strong and firm.

How many Laser Genesis treatments you’ll need to see results

After just one Laser Genesis treatment, you’ll be able to see subtle improvements in your skin and after three treatments you’ll notice significant improvements!

Typically, between 4-6 treatments are recommended over 8-12 weeks. Treatments build upon each other and each Laser Genesis session helps to increase the skin’s strength and elasticity. One of our technicians can work with you to implement a treatment plan suited to your personal skincare needs.

What to expect from a Laser Genesis treatment

Laser Genesis is completely painless! Many clients report feeling a warm, tingling sensation during treatment, but no discomfort or pain. Laser Genesis is even suitable for sensitive skin because of the pulsating technique. There is also no downtime for Laser Genesis; you’ll be able to resume your day-to-day activities immediately following your treatment. Each treatment can last between 30-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated—larger areas will, of course, take longer). It’s a conveniently fast treatment, both in terms of duration and recovery time, so it’s easy to maintain!

How long do the effects of Laser Genesis last?

The longevity of your results are very dependent on your skin type as well as lifestyle factors. Such factors include diet, exercise, skincare routine, and how well your skin is protected from sun damage. Results generally last for approximately a year.
